Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Presko Coffee collects when you order through Presko Direct, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. We handle your information in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and the rules of the National Privacy Commission.

1. Who we are

Presko Coffee, Presko Ensueño, 2768 Ensueño, Makati City, 1213 Metro Manila, is the personal information controller for the data described here.

2. What we collect

• Identity and contact details: your name, email address, and mobile number.
• Delivery details: the address you give us, and any landmarks or instructions you add.
• Approximate location: if you allow it, your browser shares your approximate coordinates so we can check whether you fall within our service area. We use it for that check and do not store a location history.
• Order information: what you ordered, your modifications and notes, order totals, and order history.
• Payment confirmation: the screenshot you send us to confirm your BPI payment, and the reference number it contains. We never see or hold your card number, bank login, or account balance.
• Technical information: IP address, device type, browser, pages viewed, and referring site, collected automatically.
• Marketing preferences: whether you have chosen to receive our emails.

3. Why we collect it, and on what basis

We process your information to accept and prepare your order, to verify your payment, to tell you when your order is ready for collection, to confirm you are within our service area, and to answer your questions. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.

We also process it to keep records required by the Bureau of Internal Revenue and other authorities, which is a legal obligation, and to improve our menu, our service, and our advertising, which is our legitimate interest as a business.

We send marketing email only where you have consented, and you may withdraw that consent at any time.

4. Advertising and the Meta Pixel

Our website uses the Meta Pixel, a tool provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. It records actions you take on our site, such as pages viewed, items added to cart and orders completed, and shares them with Meta so that we can measure our advertising and show our ads to people like you on Facebook and Instagram.

This means Meta receives information about your visit, and may match it to a Facebook or Instagram account. Meta acts as an independent controller of that data under its own policies.

You can limit this through your Facebook ad preferences, your browser cookie settings, or a tracking blocker. Blocking it does not affect your ability to order.

5. Who we share it with

• Shopify, which hosts our online store and processes orders on our behalf.
• Meta Platforms, as described above.
• Grab Express, only where you ask us to help with a delivery issue and we need to confirm your order details.
• Our bank, where a payment needs to be traced or a refund issued.
• Government authorities, where we are legally required to disclose.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Some of these providers store data outside the Philippines. Where that happens, we rely on their contractual commitments to protect it to a comparable standard.

6. How long we keep it

Order and payment records are kept for ten years, as required for tax and accounting purposes. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Technical logs are kept for up to twelve months. Payment screenshots are kept for two years so that disputed transactions can be traced.

7. How we protect it

Your order data sits within the secured Shopify platform. Access to our store admin is limited to authorised Presko staff. Communications with our site are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and the National Privacy Commission of any breach that is likely to put you at serious risk, as the law requires.

8. Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to be informed, to access your data, to correct it, to object to its processing, to have it erased or blocked in certain circumstances, to obtain a copy in a portable format, to be indemnified for damage caused by inaccurate or unlawfully obtained data, and to complain to the National Privacy Commission.

To exercise any of these, write to our Data Protection Officer at preskocoffee@gmail.com. We will respond within fifteen working days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. Note that we cannot delete records we are legally required to keep.

9. Cookies

Our site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, such as keeping your cart and your session, and analytics and advertising cookies, including those of Meta. You can refuse non-essential cookies through your browser without losing the ability to order.

10. Children

Presko Direct is not intended for children under eighteen, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact our Data Protection Officer and we will delete it.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised date.
